Apple is making a big push for illustrated e-books in the iBookstore, The New York Times has said.
More than 100 new color e-books are being introduced into the store with iBooks 1.2, the newest version of Apple’s iPad e-reader software, which debuted on Wednesday. These books include children’s books, cookbooks, and photo books, the Times said.

Google on Monday added another volume to the e-book saga with the introduction of the company’s eBookstore. The retail operation, first announced in May for launch in the summer, falls under the umbrella of Google Books and boasts more than 3 million titles, ranging from current bestsellers to classics.
