Before Expecting Christmas Gift, What Did You Give for Thanksgiving?

My cousin told me that I should make a phone call to thank my mom as Thanksgiving had come. I did it that day, though I did not prepare anything for her. That time I felt a brief “Thank you” pushes us closer even we were in different cities now.

No turkey, no pumpkin, we don’t prepare Thanksgiving feast to celebrate the festival as it doesn’t actually have a Chinese origin. However, there’s still one thing we learn from Thanksgiving—being grateful and saying “Thank you” to others. We don’t necessarily give gifts to others. (Actually I bought a box of chocolate for my roommate, and we eat it together.)

Halloween

Halloween is an annual holiday observed on Oct 31. There are many interesting customs in halloween in many countries, such as trick-or-treating, wearing costumes and attending costume parties, carving jack-o’-lanterns, ghost tours, bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, committing pranks, telling ghost stories or other frightening tales, and watching horror films. And halloween is also an fantastic festival for us in Shenzhen, China.
